THE BUSINESS
Your Island Connection is a family business that has been managing private oceanfront rental homes & cottages in the Harpswell Islands area of Midcoast Maine since 1982. Throughout those years we have grown from only a few cottages to the more than fifty homes & cottages that you see listed today. Building personal connections with owners and tenants is something we feel is an essential part of our business. At Your Island Connection you will find friendly, hardworking natives of the area who are proud of our fishing community and want to share its hidden treasures with you. We are willing to meet with you in person, discuss options over the phone or converse via email to help you find a property that will fit your needs.
THE PEOPLE
Becky-Sue is the Founder and Owner. She was born and raised a stone's throw (literally) from our office and has the kind of intimate knowledge of the area, community and our rental properties that only a lifelong islander can have. She is a well known and respected member of our community and the heart and soul of Your Island Connection.
Heather, our Office Manager, lives in Cundy's Harbor with her husband, a reputable lobsterman on Bailey Island, and their two daughters. A former teacher, Heather has achieved her Master's Degree in Educational Technology, and since found her interest in the marketing and office management of Your Island Connection. Her native background offers visitors a wealth of knowledge in regard to area attractions, while her technological background ensures that clients' vacations will be spent worry free in regard to their accommodations.
Priscilla & Al, Becky's parents, are two friendly faces you may see at our office and around the island. If you've stayed with us before you will remember Priscilla, who worked with us for over 20 years. She has been retired since 2008 but still drops by now and then to check up on things! At age 80, her husband Al is still fishing 500 lobster traps. In the summer you might see him working in his shop next door or on his boat, the Becky-Sue and in the winter he plows snow and helps us with maintenance.
Ken & Kendra-Al are Becky's husband and her daughter. Although Ken works at Morton Real Estate full time, during July and August he and Kendra help to make our busy Saturdays run smoother by answering phones, showing folks to their rentals and assisting us with attending to details. Kendra also does occasional copy writing, design and computer support at the office.
